Sidney G. Brandon

Sidney Gordon Brandon (74) of Cut Bank MT passed away peacefully with family by his side March 14, 2022 in Cut Bank Montana.    Funeral service will be held June 25, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Prairie Peace Lutheran Church in Cut Bank.

Sid was born June 1, 1947, to Gordon and Esther Brandon in Billings, Montana. He grew up on a farm north of Cut Bank.  After graduating from Cut Bank High School in 1967, he attended Northrup Institute of Technology, earning his BS in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering.  Following college, Sid was commissioned into the United States Navy and served for 5 years.

In 1979 Sidney married Kristen Lewis in Billings, Montana.  They had 42 wonderful years together.  They raised their 2 daughters on a farm and ranch in Cut Bank. He truly loved this life.  Sid had a passion for aviation which remained with him his whole life     He always had an airplane he was working on.  He loved to fly and share his knowledge with others.   He was a flight instructor and spent many years as an aerial applicator.

Sidney had another love, his deep faith which helped him during his journey with cancer.  He was always willing to share God’s message, a prayer, or one of his Gideon Bibles he always kept in his vest.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Esther and Gordon Brandon. He is survived by his wife Kristen Brandon; daughters Katie (Scott) Anderson and Samantha (Noah) Pyle; four grandsons Braden and Jack Anderson, Gabriel and Thomas Pyle; sisters Nancy (Ron) Deming and Jane Erikisson; and brother Curt (DeeAnn) Brandon; brother-in-laws Mark(Joyce) Lewis, Miles (Diana) Lewis; sister-in-laws Karen Kraus and Susie (Ted) Browning; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Gift of Life, Sletten Cancer Center, Gideons or Prairie Peace Lutheran Church.
