Tom Durnell, 66, passed away on September 18, 2024. Tom was born on July 18, 1958 to Red and Martha Durnell of Dupuyer. He graduated from Valier High School in 1977. He was the proud owner of Durnell’s Custom Woodcraft and later opened and remodeled the TNT Tavern in Conrad in 2018. Tom was a skilled craftsman and took great pride in his custom cabinetry.
Tom had a love for Harley motorcycles that fueled his passion for adventure and the comradery with fellow local biker groups. His favorite pastime was organizing and participating in poker rides across the area. Tom had the natural ability to carry on conversations with anyone and everyone. Starting as strangers, later leaving as dear friends. He was always the life of the party and the first one to greet you when you walked through his doors. His infectious laugh, warmth and many stories will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Tom is survived by his loving children, Amber (Adam) Brown of Conrad and Brett (Tahna) Durnell of Seattle, and his four cherished grandchildren, Ryder, Jameson, Camille and Taron. Survivors also include his brother, Mike Durnell of Valier; his sisters, Jan (Bob) Vogel of Helena and Debbie (Charlie) Fox of Helena; along with countless friends and patrons whose lives he touched. He was preceded in death by his son, Chad Durnell, and his parents.
"Just One More " gathering to remember and celebrate Tom will be held Saturday, September 21, from 4pm -7pm at TNT Tavern in Conrad.
