Thomas W Spotted Eagle, 80, an Army veteran from Browning, passed away February 11, 2014 at the Blackfeet HIS Hospital in Browning. Rosary is Thursday, February 13, at the Mormon Church Building at 7:00 pm. Funeral mass is scheduled for Friday, February 14, at 2:00 pm at the Little Flower Parish. Burial with military honors will follow in the Old Agency Cemetery.
Thomas was born March 20, 1933 in Browning to Thomas Nault and Clara Champine Spotted Eagle. He grew up on the reservation at Heart Butte and attended schools in Browning before enlisting in the US Army. He was a Green Beret Ranger paratrooper. After his discharge he returned to Browning and worked on area ranches.
He was a member of the Catholic Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Thomas enjoyed being with his family and friends.
Survivors include his daughters, Lucinda Spotted Eagle of Browning and Barbara Buffalo of Spokane; his son David Spotted Eagle of Portland; as well as 9 grandchildren. He is predeceased by his wife, Marlene Old Rock Spotted Eagle; brother, Billy ‘Coon’ Champine; and sisters, Lavern and Bobby Jo.
