November 28, 1948 — June 9, 2022

Shelby

Timothy “Tim” Jo Pickering, Sr. 73, died June 9, 2022, peacefully, at home with family by his side.
On November 28th, 1948 Lauretta and Richard Pickering welcomed this bright soul into the world. Tim was a bit of a traveler growing up living in multiple places. He moved to Lakewood, WA where he would meet his soulmate of 51 years, Annie. Tim and Annie married on October 16, 1971. Together they brought four children into the world, T.J., Tyler, Tiffany, and Toby.
Tim was a jack of all trades: while living in Washington, he worked for a Rental Management Firm, doing all of the maintenance on several rental apartment buildings. Tim & Annie moved to Albuquerque, NM for a short time before moving to Montana. While living in Great Falls, Tim worked several jobs. His favorite was working as a motorcycle mechanic for Slacks Motorcycle Dealership and having an evening out with Evil Knievel. He also enjoyed working at Montgomery Wards Automotive Dept as a salesman. Tim, Annie and family moved to Shelby, MT where he worked for Pennington’s as a candy, tobacco, and beer salesman. Eventually the family moved to Kevin where they resided for over 40 years. Tim worked for Shelby Ford before going to work as a salesman and manager of the meat inspection plant at A.N. Deringer until his retirement in July 2016.
Tim created an amazing world of friends and family in his life. Whenever possible he would barbeque for his family who always brought extras home with them. Tim greeted all of them with his infectious smile. There was always a lot of joking, laughing, and teasing whenever Tim was around and everyone loved to be a part of it. Whenever Tim sat down at the table the stories started. He would tell of his time living on McNeil Island with his Dad or the shenanigans his kids created growing up and always captured everyone’s attention. Tim always accepted people into his family and made you feel loved and welcomed without question or judgement. The world will not be as great of a place without him for sure, but the memories we all have of him will always make us smile.
Tim is survived by his wife, Annamarie “Annie” (Waiss) Pickering; sons: Timothy Jo, Jr. “T.J.” Pickering (Janiel), Tyler Pickering (Teresa), Toby Pickering (Kelly); daughter, Tiffany Rowell; grandchildren: Trevor (Crystal), Treyton, Madison, Kaleb Pickering, Aelie (Braden) and Calvin Rowell, Rex and Rocky Carr; great-grandson, born June 9, 2022, Levi Joe Hammond; sister, Peggy (Ralph) Seis; brother, Charles “Chuck” Aberg; and he was the favorite uncle to several nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Pickering and Lauretta Miller; and his brother, George Pickering Miller.
A memorial service will be held July 8, 2022 at Whitted Funeral Chapel Shelby at 2:00, followed by a Celebration of Life at the Rowell house at Four Corners.
