Her commitment to her community was unparalleled. Velda served as the Mayor of Valier for several years, leaving an indelible mark on the town's progress and development. Her dedication extended beyond local governance; she played an integral role in the Port of Authority and the Valier Area Development Corporation, contributing significantly to the town's economic and infrastructural growth.
Velda was a loving mother to her son, Ian Loch, whom she leaves behind. She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas "Poe" Loch, whose memory she cherished deeply, and her parents, Bob and Donna Lund.
Her warmth, leadership, and unwavering commitment to her community will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched. Services will be at the Catholic Church in Valier on Monday January 22nd at 2:00pm with a reception to follow.
