Verena Mae Farrell

February 1, 1946 — August 5, 2024

Cut Bank

Verena Mae Farrell (78) , a cherished wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and aunt to many, passed away peacefully on August 5th surrounded by family at Northern Pines Nursing Home in Cut Bank, Montana. She was born on February 1, 1946 to Chester Glenn and Mary Ellen Miller of Cut Bank, MT.

She married Charles Farrell on September 1, 1966 in Cut Bank. They spent a few years living in several locations in eastern Montana before settling in Glendive for 14 years. During their first few years of marriage, they were able to adopt their son Glenn Russell and Mary Rachelle. They then moved to Forsyth in 1982-84 before going back home to Cut Bank where they have lived for 44 years. During that time, she was a baker at the IGA and then eventually purchased the Smokehouse Deli which they owned until she retired in 2015. She was always quick to smile and say hello to all that came into the deli.

She always had a love for her horses, dogs and cats as she was an animal lover. Growing up she had her favorite horse “Lady” that she showed in 4-H and won many ribbons at the fair. She was also a member of the Cut Bank Saddle club for many years. She loved to talk about those days and the shenanigans she participated in with her horse riding friends.

Another of her favorite places and things she loved was her many camping/fishing trips to Two Medicine Lake in Glacier Park with family and friends. She loved to just take off on a Saturday or Sunday and go over the pass just to get out of the house.

She was preceded in death by her parents Glenn & Mary Ellen Miller, brother Glenn, brother Robert and sister Carol.

She is survived by her husband Chuck Farrell, children Glenn (Cheyne) and Mary (Lisa), grandchildren Dennis (Sheri), Grace, MacClain , Germaine , Jayson and great grandchildren Bonnie, Kayden, Yahir and Penelope as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and many lifelong friends.

There will be a graveside service on August 24th at 1 pm at the Crown Hill Cemetery followed by a reception at the Moose Club in Cut Bank where we can all share our stories of Verena.
