Verna Mae Baughman, 89, passed on April 29, 2021. Verna was born on February 18, 1932 to Lawrence & Celia Ezell in Checotah, OK. She was the oldest of 7 children. In 1949 Verna met Bill Baughman in Oklahoma they fell in love and proceeded to marry. They moved to Cut Bank shortly afterward where they built a life and created a family. Verna was a homemaker and took in daycare, she loved children and had the biggest heart. Verna was known for her beautiful quilts she made by hand and her delicious cookies. She even earned the name “Cookie Lady”.
Verna is survived by her sister, Wilma Schock; son, Joe Baughman; daughter, Julie Baughman; daughter- in-law, Toni Baughman; son-in-law, Bernie Pourroy; many grandchildren, great grandchildren; and even great, great grandchildren. Verna was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Celia Ezell; brother, Lawrence Ezell; sisters, Ruby Lane, June Alison, Shirley Malloy, and Carol Garner; her husband, Bill Baughman; son, Jimmy Baughman; daughter, Janet Pourroy; and grandson, Brock Owen Baughman.
Verna was loved by many and will be missed dearly.
A memorial service is set for May 22nd at 2pm at Cut Bank Community Bible Church.
