Virginia B. Robinson, 99, passed December 6, 2022 at Logan Health Center Extended Care in Conrad.
Virginia was born in Conrad on August 22, 1923 to Ole and Bertha (Solberg) Offerdal. She hurried into this world in the backseat of the family’s Model T Ford while on the way to town. She joined an older sister, Doris, and the family later welcomed a younger sister, Helen. She attended grade school at a one-room schoolhouse on Sollid Road east of Conrad and grew up on their dry-land farm/ranch.
Virginia graduated from Conrad High School in 1941. After high school, she attended the Great Falls Commercial College for a short time. Following her college days, she worked in several offices in Conrad.
In 1942 Virginia married Eugene Robinson at the Pondera Valley Lutheran Church in Conrad. She and Gene had three children, Eugene, Jr., Thomas, and Patti.
Holidays were always a special time for her. She delighted in hosting family and friends. The home was always beautifully decorated for the occasion and a robust meal was shared in the family dining room.
She never missed the opportunity to recognize family and friends on their special occasions with a heartfelt note, a call, and especially a card in the mail. Virginia was a life-long member of Pondera Valley Lutheran Church, served on various committees, and practiced daily prayers for others. She was a member of the Conrad Chapter of Eastern Star, Garden Club, and a private business owner of an antique shop.
She traveled extensively throughout the United States and numerous foreign countries. In her later years, she cherished afternoon drives on local country roads that brought back so many memories of people and places. These outings weren't complete without a stop for an ice cream cone which she could make last for at least a half hour. On the celebration of her 90th birthday she was showered with over 100 cards from family, friends, and acquaintances from far and wide.
She was preceded in passing by her husband and lifelong dance partner, Gene; son, Eugene, Jr.; and sister, Doris Vandal.
She is survived by her son, Tom (Kathy) Robinson, Conrad; daughter, Patti (Mick) Holm, Columbia Falls, MT; daughter-in-law, Sharyn Robinson, Winsor, CO; 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and sister, Helen Bjelland of Conrad.
Virginia's family would like to say a special "thank you" to the Horizon Lodge and the staff at the Logan Health Medical Center Extended Care for the love and care they extended to our beloved mother and our family.
Visitation will be held Monday, December 12, from 10am-12pm at Pondera Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00pm at Pondera Valley Lutheran Church. Burial to follow in Hillside Cemetery.
Friends and family are invited to gather, in Virginia's honor, at PVLC Fellowship Hall following graveside services.
