Wilgus Oliver Fulton, 83, a retired truck driver and farmer, passed away from natural causes on January 8, 2012 at a Shelby hospital. Graveside services will be Thursday, January 12, at 1:00 pm in the Sunburst Cemetery.
He was born on August 16, 1928 in Wheeler Co, Texas to Cecil and Marion (Miller) Fulton. He grew up in Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico where he graduated from high school. He and Violet Varga were married on May 14, 1977 in Taber, Alberta. Wilgus enjoyed welding, mechanics and horses. He chariot raced with his miniature horses and took pleasure in helping with gymcanna (kids’ rodeo).
Survivors include his wife, Violet of Sandy Valley, NV; children, Judy (Alton) Miller of Shelby, Brenda (Leonard) Sahlin of Enilda, Alberta, John Fulton of Edmonton, Alberta, and Jody (Doug) Wells of Guy, Alberta; as well as 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings, Dale (Audrey) Fulton of Post Falls, ID, Nelda (Ron) Erickson of Newport, WA, Cecil Fulton of Vancouver, BC, and Myra (Richard) Marvin of Priest River, ID; and five step-children.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Iva Lee; brother, Larry; three grand-children; and one great-grandson.
