William (Bill) P. Silvia Sr. 62, long time Shelby resident passed away in his home on Wednesday, April 6, 2011. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 9, at 2:00 pm at The Oasis in Shelby.
Bill was born in Swansea, Massachusetts, on September 17, 1948 to Francis and Mary E. (Silvia) Silvia. Bill relocated to Shelby in the 70’s when he was discharged from the service. He had traveled to Shelby on vacation and he loved it so much he called his sister, told her to ship his stuff, that he was here to stay.
Bill loved everything about the outdoors: camping, fishing and hunting. Bill was always on a mission to help someone out, if it wasn’t pulling their vehicle out of a stuck position, he was making a fillet board for a future die hard fisherman like himself. Bill always had a bear hug for everyone; he loved and he was loved by many.
Bill is survived by his wife Janet Silvia of Shelby; sister, Kathy Morris of Taunton MA; half sister, Josephine Krutzfield of Shelby; daughter, JoAnn Fisher of Hungry Horse; sons, James Silvia and William Silvia, Jr. both of Shelby; step children, Lindsey (Shane) Musser of Las Vegas; Lesley (Michael) Berger of Honolulu; Jabez (Holly) Rogers of Shelby; as well as several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
