Denny Knickerbocker

December 14, 1943 — March 9, 2015

Lew Dennis Knickerbocker Jr - Affectionately known as Denny or Denny Dawg to his friends, passed away Monday, March 9 th 2015 at his home with his wife, Vicki, after battling lung cancer for two years.

Denny was born December 14 th , 1943 in Cut Bank, MT to Lew and Georgia (Texel) Knickerbocker.  He was born at a time when his father was a prisoner of war in Italy.  Denny was almost two years old before his father could come home to be with them.  He attended school in Shelby and graduated from Shelby High in 1961.  During his high school years, he was involved in track, basketball and football.  Denny was self-employed in construction for over 40 years.

In 1969 he married Sheila Premo and together they had their daughter, Tara Lou Knickerbocker.  They later divorced.  In 1979, he married Vicki Alvestad Knickerbocker and they cherished 35 years of marriage.  Denny and Vicki had two sons, Dennis Anton Knickerbocker and Guy James Knickerbocker. Denny loved playing golf with his many friends and enjoyed his social life.

He is survived by his wife, Vicki; sons Dennis (Elisha) Knickerbocker of Shelby and Guy (Danielle) Knickerbocker of Shelby; daughter Tara Lou (David) Craig of Alaska.  He is also survived by his grandchildren, Andrew Craig of Alaska, Kayleigh Ruff Knickerbocker of Shelby, James Knickerbocker and Thomas Knickerbocker, Shelby, and Thea Mae Knickerbocker of Shelby; his sisters, Pamela Faulhaber and family of Shelby, and Laurie Elhard and family of Cut Bank, as well as many nieces and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lew in 1997 and Georgia in 2011, and his brother Lenny in 2010.
